Commercial Sprinkler Installation
Large yard and commercial sprinkler projects are an area of expertise for the technicians of Pro Sprinkler. As professionals, we design automatic sprinklers being mindful of water usage, manufacturer’s instructions, water flow local utilities, and other considerations. We offer the same 2-year warrantee for commercial irrigation as we do for residential installs. For exact pricing, consultation, or other question, feel free to reach out to one of our reps.
Can I install a sprinkler system myself?
Of course you can. Idaho State Law makes exceptions that allow homeowners to install backflow devices and sprinkler systems on their own properties. However, be aware that you may need to obtain a permit from the city where you reside.
Keep in mind that a DIY irrigation system may cost as much or more money for a few reasons:
- Hardware store parts tend to be lower quality than contractor supplied parts
- Components of your system cost more for homeowners
- You may not understand the water supply and how to connect to the supply line.
- Improper calibration or adjustment could use too much water
- No warrantee on parts or labor
Why is professional installation the best choice for a residential sprinkler system?
- Pro sprinkler includes a detailed plan to avoid mistakes.
- We ensure that the system uses the right amount of water, saving you money.
- Peace of mind that your system is built properly and is under warrantee.
Commercial Sprinkler Installation
Pro Sprinkler Repair and Installation is experienced in commercial irrigation. If you have large sprinkler project, feel free to get a bid from us. Send us your design and we will generate an estimate for the work.
What is the primary difference between residential and commercial sprinkler systems?
There are significant differences between residential and commercial sprinkler systems. Primarily, commercial sprinkler systems are tasked with watering much larger lawn areas than residential systems. Based on this fundamental difference, the commercial systems often include multiple water sources, a larger main line, larger number of zones than their residential counter parts. Commercial systems are also more likely to search for non-potable water supply to reduce the cost of irrigation. In such cases, commercial systems use industrial pumps and filters for use with alternative water sources. That said, sprinkler heads (though varied in shape and size) may be the same in residential sprinkler systems as they are for commercial jobs.

Hunter PGP-Ultra Sprinkler Heads
Sprinkler heads are the worker bees of the sprinkler system. Proper distribution, adjustment, and calibration of sprinkler heads are fundamental to an effective sprinkler system.
Hunter PGV Sprinkler Automatic Valves
Sprinkler valves communicate with the controller to automatically open and close according the schedule. Premium quality valves don’t plug up, leak, or quit working.
Poly Pipe (HDPE Pipe)
Poly pipe is a semi-flexible plastic pipe. Rated at 100 PSI, it is extremely effective for irrigation use. It out performs PVC pipe by far.
How many types of sprinkler heads are there?
There is a wide range of sprinkler heads and related products available. However, these products can typically be grouped into three basic categories. These categories are: Rotors, rotary nozzles, and spray nozzles.
Rotors
Rotors shoot a single burst of water and rotate in a circle. Most rotors are adjustable in range and coverage from full circle (360 degrees), down to a small pie shape (<30 degrees). Range also varies from 20ft-45ft. Common residential use rotors should be spaced between 25-35 feet for optimal coverage. Primary use for rotors is open lawn areas.
Rotary Nozzles (MPs)
Rotary Nozzles water with a pattern and range similar to rotors. The difference is that rotary nozzles deliver many individual streams of water simultaneously, instead of a single burst. They rotate and water a circular pattern that can also be adjusted by degree. It should be noted that rotary nozzles are often not widely adjustable like rotors. Some may rotate 90-210 degrees while others rotate from 210-270 degrees. Due to this, they are selected and installed specific to the location where they water. Rotary nozzles are used in either open or confined lawn areas.
Spray Nozzles
Spray nozzles do not rotate, but instead deliver a constant spray of water to the area they are adjusted to. They can be fully adjusted from 360 to zero degrees. Spray nozzles have less range than rotors, spraying from 4′-15′ commonly. They are also a much more affordable option over other sprinkler heads. Spray nozzles are used for confined lawn areas.
What kind of sprinkler head is the best?
Sprinkler heads are manufactured by many various suppliers. Each brand supplies several product lines of sprinkler heads. As addressed above, the “best sprinkler head” is based on location in the lawn. A note regarding brands, we have found quality across the product spectrum regardless of brand. However, we caution against irrigation products that you find at box stores like Home Depot.
